Churches Plan Christmas 2018 Plays, Pageants, Festivals

From Dec. 1 to Jan. 6, the churches of the Coastal Bend have Christmas celebrations planned for every age and tradition. Plays and pageants and even breakfast with Santa are set for almost every weekend. There’s got to be one here that interests you!


“HOME FOR THE HOLIDAY” CONCERT

Asbury United Methodist Church

7501 S. Staples St.

5-6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1

Children and adults present this amazing concert of holiday favorites. Admission is FREE as are the refreshments. Free photos with Santa (bring your own camera) following the event. Nursery provided.


ANNAVILLE BAPTIST CHURCH CHRISTMAS PLAY

4025 Violet Road

7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 & Sunday, Dec. 2

“The Unlikely Shepherd” will be performed in the Worship Center. Admission is FREE and open to the community.


ANNAVILLE BAPTIST CHURCH CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL

Parking Lot, 4025 Violet Road

Games, inflatables, train, hay rides, hot cocoa, s’mores and more. Admission is FREE and the entire community is invited.


HANDEL’S ‘MESSIAH’

First United Methodist Church

900 S. Shoreline Blvd.

3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2

The Corpus Christi Messiah Chorus and members of the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra perform the Messiah as a gift to the community. Admission is FREE.


BREAKFAST WITH SANTA

First Baptist Church of Corpus Christi

3115 Ocean Drive

8:30-11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8

Join Santa Claus for a pancake breakfast in the recreation center. Make a gift for Mom and Dad or cards for relatives. Bring your camera for photos with the Jolly Ol’ Elf himself. Cost is $4 for adults and $3 for children ages 3-12. No reservations needed. Pay at the door.


THE CHRISTMAS PAGEANT

Church of the Good Shepherd

700 S. Upper Broadway

10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 16

Children and youth of all ages are welcome to participate in the annual festive re-enactment of Jesus’s birth in Bethlehem.


BOAR’S HEAD & YULE LOG FESTIVAL

First Christian Church

3401 Santa Fe

3 p.m., 5 p.m. & 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019

A spiritual end to the holiday season celebrated in music, drama and dance.
