Coastal Bend Back to School Giveaways

Back-to-school shopping and preparations are now underway. In the Corpus Christi Independent School District, teachers begin professional development Aug. 14. Students report for the first day on Monday, Aug. 27. Get backpacks, school supplies, immunizations, and more at these back-to-school giveaways across the Coastal Bend this month.


Aug. 1

4-7 p.m.

State Representative Abel Herrero School Supply Giveaway,

Robstown High School Auditorium

609 Texas 44, Robstown

Free supplies and backpacks for all grades. Immunizations and shots will be provided at no expense.


Aug. 3

4-7 p.m.

Petey’s Back to School Bash

Boys and Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend

3902 Greenwood Drive, Corpus Christi

Free backpacks and school supplies for the first 300 students. Free games, door prizes, and music.


5:30 p.m.

Robstown Back to School Rally

RECHS Auditorium

609 Texas 44, Robstown

Free backpacks and school supplies for the first 500 students.


Aug. 9

4:30-6:30 p.m.

Petey’s Back to School Bash

Douglass Youth Center

902 S. Second St., Kingsville

Free backpacks and school supplies for the first 100 students. Free games, door prizes, and music.


Aug. 11

9 a.m.-2 p.m.

52nd annual Health Fair

American Bank Center

1901 N. Shoreline Blvd. in Corpus Christi

Resources include free physicals, kids’ bike helmets, screenings and testing, diabetes education, and immunizations.


Aug. 18

10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Lead First Health Fair

Ray High School

1002 Texan Trail, Corpus Christi

Free fair giveaways include immunizations, backpacks with school supplies, and shoes. Also features entertainment and health screenings. Volunteers are needed to help stuff backpacks before the event.
