Corpus Christi Christmas Events Unveiled

The Corpus Christi Guide at contains a full line up of holiday events in the Coastal Bend.

Santa takes a dive, the city decorates a new, 66-foot tree, and the Texas State Aquarium presents a 4-D ride on the Polar Express. It’s Christmas Time in Corpus Christi. We’ve listed a few of the newest and most unusual holiday happenings coming this month, but you’ll find a whole lot more in our newly updated Corpus Christi Christmas Guide.

Coastal Christ¡mas! is coming to town for the first time Dec. 16 at the American Bank Center. Daily events planned through Jan. 1 include activities and holiday cheer for all ages. Bring the whole family to go:

• twirling on the ice-skating rink;

  • jumping in the “World’s Largest Snowman” bounce house;
  • racing down the two-lane Toboggan Tunnel slide;
  • stepping inside the Giant Snow Globe for a perfect winter photo op;
  • riding the Trackless Train around Shoreline Boulevard;
  • and working with the elves at Santa’s Workshop Toddler Zone.

Guests can kick back at the Coastal Christmas Lodge, listen to holiday favorites, and gather ’round the fire pits to roast s’mores. Santa will fly into South Texas just for this event, giving guests an opportunity to sit in his sleigh and meet his reindeer. For a full schedule of events, visit

Visit Corpus Christi’s new, 66-foot Christmas tree in Water’s Edge Park.

The tree includes more than 7,000 lights and 2,000 enormous silver, gold, red, and green ornaments. A nativity star tops the tree. The $25,000 tree was paid for by H-E-B and took a community of volunteers, H-E-B staff, electricians, and two cherrypickers to set up and decorate.

No Corpus Christi Christmas is complete without Santa donning scuba gear for his daily dives to feed the fish at the Texas State Aquarium. Santa plunges into the Caribbean Journey exhibit at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily through Dec. 24. Stop by to see old St. Nick for a unique photo opportunity.

Also at the aquarium, see “The Polar Express 4-D Experience” in the only 4-D theater in South Texas. The 15-minute special takes you on a full immersion train ride via motion, sights, sounds, and even smells. The film shows seven times daily. Visit the website for more information.
